If you would like to make a tax-deductible donation to the Thief River Falls Area Community Fund, choose to apply your gift to either of the following (or specify amounts for each):
- Endowment (gifts to establish a permanent fund to provide grants into the future)
- Project Funds (gifts given out each year within the year)
The Northwest Minnesota Foundation will match every endowed gift with a 10% match. We also encourage donors to check with their employers or other groups that may provide matching gifts.
We can easily arrange for periodic contributions to be made electronically from your account. These automatic payments continue until you notify us to change the contribution. If you work for an employer that matches your contribution, please notify the fund as well as your employer.

Who Manages the Funds?
Your donations are managed by Northwest Minnesota Foundation and are made available through a grant application process. All grant-making decisions are made by a local Thief River Falls advisory group that is committed to making grants that are responsive to community needs.
What is a "Sustaining" Donor?
Sustaining donors are supporters who give one-time gifts or make gifts as finances permit.
What Is a "Visionary" Donor?
Visionary donors are supporters who give, or have given, $1,000 or more to the fund.
What is a "Legacy" Donor?
Legacy donors make gifts through wills, life insurance, trusts, annuities, and/or family funds. For those 72 years and over, this is an ideal place for your IRA or 401k RMDs. Northwest Minnesota Foundation development staff are available to work with you and your financial advisor to help you structure your legacy donation in a way that will help you achieve your philanthropic goals.
